Spring into Summer at
Off the Beaten Track Rides
Pack the alcohol, then your bags. Load your horse and set off.
Put the alcohol in the fridge and horse in the paddock. Return to fridge asap! Ice-cubes and glasses aplenty.
Liquid lunch, home-made sausage rolls, new potatoes from the garden, followed by sponge & custard (there is always a pudding).
Tack-up for an afternoon of adventure, following the map to the ruin where you may come across a picnic table with glasses of chilled prosecco. If not hopefully your hip flasks will have to suffice. Then have a blast up Zod’s Hill, across the ford and back to base.
Horses sorted and fed, it’s time to return to the fridge. Did I mention it’s a big fridge!! There will be scones and jam served on the verandah.
After home-made supper (and more pudding of course), it’s time to relax in the hot-tub, cooking gently in the warm water whilst sipping your poison of choice. You will, of course, have made good use of the Very Large Fridge on your way to the Hot-tub.
End the evening with cheese and biscuits, and toasted marshmallows whilst sitting round the firepit.
Wake from feather duvet wrapped slumbers to a hearty cooked breakfast plus home-made bread, butter and strawberry jam, then perhaps a visit to Boo’s Pool is inevitable!
Swimming with your horse, whilst I video the splashing and squealing when water reaches parts known and unknown – even more memories for you to take home and share.
Canter up the track to the pub for lunch, and stables for the horses before returning via the forest tracks.
Riders and horses leave relaxed, recharged and ready for more adventures next time
